Cafe Sevilla is a Spain restaurant that is specializes in tapas and paellas. It is located in Gas lamp, San Diego downtown.

The interior has very Spanish vive and is lively.

This is trio ceviche.
they were light appetizer tapas. It went well with blanc sangria that I ordered.

This is gambas al ajillo.
This was a little less oily that I expected. I was used to dip bread and eat it but it did not served with bread =(
It was little tangy but not overwhelming.

This is flat iron castellano.
this originally served with blue cheese, but my sister requested not to.
the red wine reduction sauce was very tasty and grilled cherry tomato and green olive was very complementing each other.
the only thing that I would complain about was the meat was a little too chewy.

THE Black Rice Seafood Paella!!
This is tapas size.
next time, I am going to order a family size!!!
This dish won the Grand Prix! It seasoned perfectly and squid ink rice tasted so savory!! This is a Must!!
I, personally, needed some hot sauce so, I asked the server and he hot me a habanero sauce… that was awesome too!
The only regret was I ordered a tapas size.

This is a traditional paella family size.
This was good too. It had calamaris, shrimps, clams, mussels, chicken, sausages. This was a little bit salty so I felt like drinking beer.
Although this is a family size, if you only order this dish, it is good for two people. Or…. may be I eat a lot ..=) The dish size is approx. 12″ diameter.

they often have live music!!
you can check out performing schedule on their website http://www.cafesevilla.com/san-diego/
unfortunately, I had to leave right before they begin. =(

In side the restaurant was too dark just like any other restaurant in the evening,

I was not able to take good pictures of them =(

The tip to visit Cafe Sevilla is to check promotions on their website.

I went on Monday and they had half off on any paellas(excluding to-go orders).

They also have many other deals during the week days.

The parking was a hassle but luckily we found a Ace parking structure about few blocks way and they charged 1 dollar per hour which is not bad at all.

Overall, I would give ****  4 stars on Cafe Sevilla.
